Giwoggle

Another one of Pennsylvania’s cryptids, the giwoggle is the official monster of Clinton county. The creature has the body of a wolf with bird talons instead of front paws and horse hooves in place of back paws. It walks upright and stands around six feet tall. According to the legends, the giwoggle is not naturally occurring, but is instead conjured by a witch. The mixed up body parts an intentional part of the spell in order to confuse trackers. The creature doesn’t harm people, but is instead sent to annoy those that had offended the witch, often with pranks and petty vandalism. Farmers would find their crops trampled, animals frightened, or tools damaged.

Bernard at PA Wilds traces the stories of the giwoggle back to the mid1800s as an oral tale passed down through generations. It is most common around West Keating Township, PA. The earliest written record of the giwoggle was an article in a folklore periodical, where George Rhone recorded the tale of the creature having heard it from his grandmother. There are even tales of a local hero, Loop Hill Ike, having defeated giwoggles and their witches.

Katherine McIntyre – Leather and Lattes

Lately I have been reading the Leather and Lattes series by Katherine McIntyre.

Set in the same world as her Dungeons and Dating series, each book features a different employee who works at Whipped, a cafe and kink club. What I love about the series is it’s diversity, both in the kinks that are represented and in the pairings. The first book, Immersion Play, features Micah, new to kink, and Parker, a Daddy Dom. Both come with emotional baggage that they must sort out to find their happily ever after. The later books mix up the pairings with the second book (Extraction Play) featuring a FF pairing, then a MMM pairing in the third book (Percolation Play), and a MX pairing in the fourth (Filtration Play). The fifth book, Concentration Play, takes us back to an MM pairing and rounds out the last of the main casts of characters.

“But he’s definitely a brat-in-waiting.”

“Oh good,” Sloan said. “We haven’t collected one of those yet.”

“Kinkster Pokemon?” Parker said, a grin rising to his lips. “Gotta catch ’em all?”

While the books feature sexy, kinky romps in bed (and other places) and numerous play party scenes, they don’t lack for plot and conflict. The books are hard to put down once started. The characters really suck you into their lives and the happenings at Whipped. The found family aspect is strong throughout the whole series and really helps to tie the books together.

If you like some kink with your romance, go and check out the series. You won’t be disappointed.
